Amanda Tallman is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience supporting individuals who have lived through trauma, including childhood trauma, military related trauma, medical trauma, and complex life transitions. Her work is grounded in a strengths based, trauma responsive approach that honors the whole person, not just symptoms. She specializes in equine assisted psychotherapy, where horses serve as co facilitators in the therapeutic process. Working alongside horses can help clients access emotions, patterns, and body based responses in ways that feel safer and more natural than traditional talk therapy alone. This approach is especially supportive for individuals who feel disconnected from their bodies, overwhelmed by emotions, or stuck in survival mode.
Amanda integrates polyvagal theory, somatic approaches, parts work, motivational interviewing, and EMDR into her clinical work. She is currently completing the required consultation hours to become fully EMDR trained. Her focus is on helping clients build nervous system regulation, self awareness, and practical tools they can use in everyday life. She has a particular passion for working with veterans, first responders, and individuals who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. With a background in military service, Amanda brings both clinical expertise and lived understanding to her work. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported as they move toward greater stability and meaning. Amanda offers in person sessions and prioritizes relationship, consent, and trust in the therapeutic process. She welcomes clients who are seeking therapy that integrates evidence based practice with body based awareness.
