Michelle provides individual therapy for adults and emerging adults. She takes a multicultural and cognitive narrative approach, helping clients understand how their personal challenges are shaped by their experiences and the stories they tell about themselves. Using cognitive therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Michelle supports clients in developing new ways of thinking, coping, and engaging with the world.
In addition to her work as a therapist, Michelle is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Philosophy at Arizona State University, where she mentors and supports students in both academic and personal growth. She finds that teaching and counseling naturally complement one another, strengthening her ability to help individuals navigate complex personal and existential concerns and positioning her particularly well to serve academics and students alike.
Michelle has experience working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship challenges, family dynamics, identity exploration, and cross-cultural experiences. She has provided therapy in both individual and group settings, working with diverse clients in university counseling centers. Her approach is thoughtful, practical, and attuned to each client’s unique cultural and personal context.
